I'm running this machine just about 24/7, just for crunching lol :) I'm just wondering how it stacks up on the scale of things?
----------------------------------------CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.67Ghz, 100% CPU Throttle RAM: OCZ OCZ2P8002GK 2GB Kit DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Enhanced Latency Platinum XTC Edition Dual Channel MOBO: Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP P965 Pentium Extreme/Pentium D/P4/Celeron D 1066FSB LGA775 DDR2 ATX Motherboard w/Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN, RAID/Serial ATA Retail ***Free Shipping** Been going through cancer workunits every 1h25mins or so (been going for 32 days, 555 units completed). Might have to do some mild OCing, see if that can't be taken down a bit. Wonder if someone with a Core 2 Duo Extreme, or Intel Qaud Core bruises down packets in 30 mins or something :) :) ![]() |

It's tough to compare work unit completion times since they have a natural variance anyways. Points per day would be a more accurate comparison. It's easy to figure out, just go into MY GRID>>DEVICE MANAGER>>DEVICE STATISTICS, look up your machine and divide the total points by total run time in days. Remember to multiply the result by 2 because your machine is dual core.(it does 2 CPU days worth of work in one calendar day)
----------------------------------------I have an E6400 running at 3.4GHz that kicks out 6550points/day. Another machine is an AMD x2 running at 2.8GHz that produces 5100 points/day. So I'd estimate your E6700 would be in the 5200-5300 ppd range. Go ahead and overclock that beast! 3.0-3.2 should be possible on stock cooling and you'll see a nice increase in work production. ![]() |
