Run-time Error 384

Hi,

I had the UD Agent window displaying the Preferences page and I then clicked on the "Main" button at the bottom of this screen (or at least I think that is where I clicked - that certainly was my intention!).

I then got Grid Agent Run-time error 384: "A form can't be moved or sized while minimised or maximised". The agent concerned was crunching HPF2. After acknowledging the error the agent was terminated, although I re-started it successfully without loss of work.

In well over 25 years' worth of processing with the UD agent I have never experienced any run-time error messages.

David.

Re: Run-time Error 384

Hi DavidHobbs,

Clusty is my friend..... found a number of references suggesting to get your Registry fixed, but doubt that. This one though seems to show the exact message u report:

Side-Toolbar Error

Who knows

Fixed link for David Hobbs demo.

Hi Sekerob,

Sorry, I don't think that explains anything in my case.

Re: Run-time Error 384

My research led me to suspect it's a VB error. It's also more than likely to be caused by a some other software. Do you use any toolbar or taskbar type software?

It's a rare problem, and if it doesn't recur I shouldn't worry about it. If it does recur, then you should consider a fresh installation of Windows sooner or later.

David

What Didactylos says is exactly what the link tells....it may be a different software having the problem, but it being caused by some toolbar on the left or right of the screen.....just wondered.

cheers

Re: Run-time Error 384

I don't have any such toolbars and I haven't installed any new software; this is why I said I didn't think the link you found explained it. Everything seems to be working normally so I'll see if it shows again.

I have no intention of re-installing Windows but I may be prepared to re-boot it one day! This machine runs 24/7 under XP-Pro.

Excellent, nothing that snug in via your IE browser....that's one thing ruled out. As for your XPpro boot, coming 'Patch' Tuesday will be the time. Some very serious flaws have been discovered that touch all versions of Windows......I'm so glad i use Firefox exclusively.

Re: Run-time Error 384

I also use Firefox (almost) exclusively. I noticed I got a Firefox automatic update yesterday and since then my view of WCG forum posts is not displayed correctly.

The list of posts is OK but as soon as I open any of them the message stretches wider than my screen and a horizontal scroll bar appears. So I may choose to give IE a try!

Actually I have tried the new tabbed browsing version of IE at work and I was quite impressed.

Re: Run-time Error 384

Actually its how a website recognizes a browser and interpreting the page code. This thread is my fault as i posted a very long link. An quirk is when someone post one in the first 2 lines of a post. It causes the Recent Threads list to do the same on Mozilla browsers. Firefox has something called the Agent Switcher extension....tell it to appear to the Forum as IE rather than Firefox and it will show fine.

Good luck btw with IE..... put those safety belts on or switch off Active-X as a zero day flaw was discovered in the brand new IE7.... rated Very Critical!

Hey David

You might try this repackaged Internet Explorer: Microsoft Firefox 2007 Professional

Looks very polished....best of both worlds

ciao
