Hi halfcard,
We are getting some interest in using variations of the FAAH methodology against other diseases. If we do get a similar project you can ask the project scientists how they came by the idea. My guess is that word of mouth among scientists in similar fields will ultimately be one our most powerful tools in attracting projects. Lawrence |

Hmmm. Let me see....
I'm a scientist and I just found a free Mega- mega- computer system to help my research..... ![]() Now I'm going to tell my mate so that he can have one of the megas in that free system and double the time to do my research.... I don't think so... ![]() Cheers. ozylynx ![]() |

Dr. Baker has mentioned computationally designing herpes vaccines:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=1177 Yesterday and today Bill Schief and I are attending the Gates foundation funded COLLABORATION FOR AIDS VACCINE DISCOVERY KICK-OFF MEETING I am meeting many of the long time leaders in the vaccine design area and we are establishing many new exciting collaborations. Computational protein design methodology has never before been applied to vaccine design, and there are huge numbers of things to do. For example, yesterday we talked to the director of the NIH vaccine research center about designing flu vaccines, and with other experts on viruses about designing Herpes vaccines. |

There is always grandma's cure for a cold sore(herpes). Mix water and baking soda into a thin paste and apply directly on the sore. Let this soak and dry for 15 mintues then apply this 3 times daily. Note: this will burn for a bit.
It will extract the water from the cells and inactivate the virus. More importantly it will signal the immune system that something in wrong. Within 3 to 4 days the sore should be gone and healed if done correctly. It is best to use this approach the first time the herpes virus is contracted and a sore appears. You are now more educated then some doctors on this virus. |
