Re: Someone may make more sense out of this than I can.

When back in town, i'll update the graphs linked in my sig (the generator went dead 24 hours after i left :(. The x-mas period and the technical issues put a bit of a dent in the 'progressiveness' of the curves.....anyway yesterday was the 2nd >50,000 CPU days post new year day (51,370), so all seems to come back nicely.....and Jan.08.'07 'Schools in' :)

For whatever it is worth. The CPU hours per result today is the lowest it has been since late October 2004.

I don't believe that the HCMD and GC projects were running back in October. They usually don't take as many CPU hours to crunch a result as FAAH or HDC. That probably has pulled that number down.

Re: Someone may make more sense out of this than I can.

I have been updating the figures somewhat irregularly. I dropped the lines connecting the daily points since they tended to obscure the cumulative curves.

Anyone have a strong preference?

Nothing profound - just a change of scales

We had an all time high of points and CPU time today.

Unless I am just misreading things, it seems BOINC crunches faster than the UD based software on the same project.
I have converted a couple of machines to BOINC and am installing it on all new installations.
I have found about 2/3 of my machines so far...LOL

Hi cargod01,
The science application is essentially the same for both BOINC and UD, with changes for supplying information to the screensaver, graphics, check point file, etc.

However, BOINC does allow you to run multiple jobs on multicore machines.

Also, BOINCview is a convenient 3rd party utility for monitoring things.
