Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I read your posts for awhile before deciding to join a team - happy to add my crunching to such a great group. talk to the hand

So what are you crunching with? I have 2 mac pro octo's happily crunching away.

I'm running a mixed group (basically anything I can plug in and connect to the internet!) here's the run down:

2 - dell latitude D610 laptops
1 - Compaq laptop
1 - imac (dual core)
1 - mac book

For now I can only aspire to someday running an octo

and to Sgt. Joe's 10 years - Wow, great crunching! biggrin

I just went over 5 years last week or so. Not bad since 2007. Concentrating on 1 year crunching per project.

I am new to this team but have been on WCG since 12/2005. My current goal is at least 2 years on each project. smile I also would like to get in the top 100 Rank for Points Generated.

My Statistics
Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 55:110:07:04:18 (#187)
Points Generated (Rank) 44,877,380 (#109)
Results Returned (Rank) 82,190 (#153)

It is too bad that WCG does not support CUDA because I just ordered an NVIDIA 295 GTX video card, which will generate HUGE BOINC points under GPUGRID. I would rather use my power on WCG.

As the demand grows, some of the applications may be rewritten to take advantage of CUDA, but I would not hold my breath at this point. There is a growing demand to use the power of the video cards so we can only keep hoping. Someday I'm sure some crack programmers will port something like Autodock over to this . With your machines, I'm sure you will crack the top 100.

Cheers

The link you provided does not work. The following message is there:

Personally I have never watched South Park. Just from the previews I have seen it looks like a low form of humor with rotten animation. I have better things to do with my time. biggrin

Try this

That was on yesterdays Kauppalehti so I had to watch the episode. Wonder why Vanhanen was so eager to tell the truth. He just seems to have so many secrets nowadays, at least in his personal life biggrin

I've had 2 CMD2 beta units and both failed. Looks like they have more work to do. coffee

I actually got three beta units, and they all failed.
