Re: Minnesota Crunchers

little mermaid said in the Base Camp thread...
Want to join me crunching for Minnesota Crunchers for a day or two?

So I did. The weather in Minnesota was a relief from our Texas heat, but other than little mermaid I didn't see any other Base Campers.

Even so, we are appreciative of you stopping by for a short visit.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Short visit, big time points. WOW. My little new cruncher is crunching away fine. Have to leave the case door off but no big deal. Now to wait for cooler weather to fire up the duel hex cruncher.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Quite the exciting day here. I was up at 05:00 this morning and upon arriving in basement discovered a bat flying around. I quickly closed the door to the upstairs and retrieved my bat smacker (badminton raquet), but the bat was too fast for me and evidently found a crevice in which to hide until tonight. I may yet get him by the amount of flypaper I hung around the ceiling. Now I like bats, but not in my basement. If I could get him to go outside instead of killing him I would do so.
Then, on the roundabout by St. Cloud State I had another car pull directly in front of me while I was in the roundabout. I came within a hairsbreadth of broadsiding this knucklehead. Maybe next time he will look before entering a roundabout. This is no longer a new concept here as that one has already been there a couple of years.
Maybe at least a couple more days for it to be cool enough to fire up your Hex. Today felt like the middle of July.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Just one of those days, Capt'n Joe, eh?
Good thing you survived.
They have renamed the noble game badminton into
batminton and the ball no longer is a feather one.
Please let us know how that bat navigates your flypaper idea

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

For awhile, bats seem to have disappeared. Don't like them much myself but they serve a purpose eating little bugs at night. They seem to be making a come back. Leaving for the buffalo round up in SD so will be shutting down my crunchers until I get back sunday.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Crunchers are back crunching. Had a great time. Almost a 10 hour drive but stopped around half way in a hotel. Pretty cool watching a stampede of around 1500 buffalo with the cowboys and cowgirls rounding them up and steering them to the coral. Worth the trip.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Didn't rain until I was on the road back. Someone else brought this monsoon! Knocked out my power this morning. Up at 3am to fire up generator so wife could shower and get ready for work. Back up 3 hrs later.
PS.... fired up the dually since we have cool weather for this week. 40 threads crunching! biggrin

Never lost power here. Rain gauge had 3 inches(7.6cm) in it this morning. It would be nice if the rain held off for a couple of days. I have some painting to finish yet.
