Re: Minnesota Crunchers

If my 3770 and mobo would get here, might have to accelerate the build to get it up and running.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Hit my record yesterday: 2,340,081 WCG Points!

Whoa! That's some serious crunching. What's your normal points before GPU crunching kicked in?

I was doing about 450,000 per day on my 20 home build computers. Of the 20 computers, 5 are Ubuntu and two are laptops that does not have a compliant video card. These are not participating in GPU processing but are still doing CPU processing. The remaing 13, Two are AMD Video cards running multiple GPU tasks, the others are NVIDA running a single task.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I still have not got app_info to work on my 6 GTX 480s and 3 GTX 295s. If I could, I might catch you!

Anything I can do to help? Your 480s should be able to run multiple tasks. Don't know about the 295s.

I have a question. I have a ATI 7770 on an i7 860 and a Nvidia 470 on a i7 950.
What is the max work units at a time should I run on them? I don't care if the screen is laggy.

Suggest your start at 4 wu's but bet it will do 6 just fine on the 7770. Don't know anything on Nvidia so can't help you on that. On both my 7870 and 7950, I started slow (4) and increased while watching to see how my temps handled the load. Both of mine are at 10 now. Suggest at least 1 thread per gpu wu.

I need to know what this should be at 6 and 8

I think this is 4? What is the calculation to figure that out?

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Divide 1 by the number of tasks you want to run
6=.166 (1 divided by 6)
8=.125 (1 divided by 8)

I don't know how hard you can push the 7770. I'm guessing 4 would be max.
Nvidias don't scale as good as ATI so maybe start the 470 with 2(.50) and see how it does after a few days. Then add 1 at a time until you lose efficiency. I'm guessing 3 maybe 4 might be max on that one.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Drat sad My Dell 2950 has bit the dust for moment. It is telling me there is a synchonicity error in processor 0. I was going to replace the processors anyway, so now I guess I have to sooner rather than later.
Cheers
