Re: The PCReview Crew II Needs You! cool

Good afternoon Crunchies, hope you are having a good day and that those of you living in the southern "half" of the UK have not needed to take to the boats yet? worried So far, just dark clouds and light rain here, but deluges are promised.... now where did I put that life-jacket... thinking

Happy crunching folks batting eyelashes hugs

Oh Addy, that looks bad shock I hope that the flooding didn't affect houses in your area? The tv News pictures have been astonishing, so many people in trouble - who would imagine that it could be happening at this time of the year? sad

Try to keep safe and take good care everyone hugs

Hiya TC - unfortunately some of the houses at the bottom end of the road were flooded, it is so sad to walk past now and see their front gardens piled up with damaged carpets and belongings sad

I am so sorry to hear that Ady, and can sincerely sympathize, because my own home was flooded to a depth of about 4 feet, when I was still a child. Furnishings and possessions were lost from the whole of the ground floor and we had to live upstairs for months. It was a horrible experience.

So many people are now without clean mains-water and power too, which must be terribly hard. I'm afraid it makes me feel extremely cross, when I then hear that building upon flood-plains is still going to be permitted.... how stupid is that? Perhaps if the powers-that-be were living right amongst us "ordinary folk" they would have slightly different ideas, and understand what it is like to actually live through these problems, rather than just paying a visit to "show support" and utter a lot of empty words of sympathy. angry

blushing Okay, sorry, I shall step down off me soap-box now, before I fall off tongue

Take care and keep safe Crunchies smile

Re: The PCReview Crew II Needs You! cool

My local water company has just lifted the 'hose-pipe ban'.
Seems we are at last getting the right rain!!!!!
The Thames is on red alert & whilst walking near it today most locks & weirs are open to get as much out towards the sea as possible.

Hope all OK with you now Ady.
