Project '2 plus 2 is 4' is for ALL teams and teamless members, so please help

I know this isn't a team thread, but this has the potential to vastly benefit WCG and grid-computing in general, so I'm posting it here as well as the chat room (more traffic here). Both of my sites -- 2plus2is4.com and velek.com -- are now neutral because I have modified them to remove all references and links to the HomeBrewers and there are none to any other team, either.

I therefore hope that each of you will take the time to at least look at the first one (2plus2is4) to see what I am trying to accomplish for all of us, and then provide links to that site on any team or personal sites that you might have, etc. Please help spread the word about Project 2plus2is4 by mentioning it on any other grid forums you visit; I know that many of you use BOINC and crunch for more than just the WCG. I'd also appreciate an occasional reply to keep this near the top -- at least for a little while until most have had a chance to see it.

Thanks.

A 'bump' is in order so folks can see that I've edited my first post to announce some important changes, e.g., sites' neutrality. Thanks.

Re: Project '2 plus 2 is 4' is for ALL teams and teamless members, so please help

I really do think, in my humble opinion, that I have identified what is probably the main and most significant problems for recruitment for ALL grid projects -- public apathy, ignorance, and mistrust -- and I've offered what I believe is an excellent and easily accomplished solution -- educating our children about this through our schools, ... yet practically no one else seems to think that this is a worthwhile endeavor. I say that because this '2plus2is4' project is receiving such a chilled response; I have been inviting and urging the ENTIRE community here at WCG, including teams besides the HomeBrewers, to get behind this project in some way. I posted this thread here in the team room because I felt that this is important enough to warrant a non-team post, and another thread in the chat room, and except for JUST THREE PEOPLE who have replied, there has been dead silence. And that's even after a few 'bumps' back to top of the list. I even went so far as to make my site 'team neutral', i.e., neither linking nor referring to ANY team, and I made a specific announcement of that fact, and I still can't get anyone interested.

We've got to try something, and if this effort is successful, we should see a HUGE increase in the number of crunchers over the next few years -- perhaps far more successful than any other recruiting campaign. But it seems that most people are content to compare stats, issue certificates, pat one another on the back, make silly posts, or bitch, argue, and fight with one another. And in the process, something as important as this project quickly drops down the list because of many petty things, including immature flames wars. This is very frustrating. Well, enough with my venting; I just hope that some of you folks will reconsider and try to help with this project in some way or another; if you are, please let me know. Encouragement goes a long way.

Thanks.
