It's just very low contrast.
The HDC scientists are continuously doing quality control, both before and after grid processing. But you have to understand that these images come from real tissue samples so you can expect all sorts. It could be this isn't high enough quality for a decent result, but on the other hand the filters aren't going to care about the contrast. And what produces bad results with one filter bank may produce useful results with other filters. Don't prejudge it on what you can see with the naked eye. The original image is larger than the scaled down version you see in the window. |

You could be right, or you could be misinterpreting it. Neither window shows the original image.
