Slapshot and Mrs. Shapshot, welcome to our forums and good luck with your recruitment. As a bit of encouragement, I formed the HomeBrewers team on 11/21/05, and it initially consisted of just me. I immediately began various recruitment efforts, including the following:
1. listing a short message in my signature file that I use for my emails and newsgroup postings;
2. posting a short recruitment message on many message boards and newsgroups;
3. creating my own webpage to recruit for the WCG in general, as well as for my team;
4. talking it up frequently in face to face conversations with friends and family (that doesn't mean being borish so that people begin to avoid you so I limit myself to very brief comments during breaks in the conversation -- something like, "Well, my HomeBrewers' team did very well last week, and if any of you want more info, just let me know").

Anyway, I was lucky enough to get a few fellow members who also helped to recruit, and now we are in 122nd place and determined to make it into the Top-100 before we are a year old. I hope that this will inspire you to try to make your team one of the great ones like our's.

If you decide to create a webpage and would like to use any of the ideas on my page, please help yourself. While my page is very amateurish (I don't know much html or graphic design, nor do I have any tools per se), it is full of good info and links, and I think the videos probably do as good of a job of selling the idea as anything else.

First off many thanks for the warm welcome ( at last, we've been here a year ) even though I guess we should kind have shown our faces a little earlier, but we have still been crunching. With a bit of luck we'll get some new recruits for the WCG and our Team.

Also thanks for the info and the kind permission to rip off all your hard work Bill. By the way if you have no experience or tools the website looks pretty darned good to me .

I'll repay the kindness shown to us here by poping in to your respective team threads and swapping a little banter and kindly meant slander hehehehe with all you fellow crunchers and teams.

A little update we now have as of today 102,794 points and are ranked number 4,747 hehehehehehe be afraid guys, be very afraid ( all right, youv'e got a little breathing space yet, time for a few homebrewed beers Bill )
