What are the names of the wcg windows services? Our lab computers reboot often for switching betwen windows/linux opsystems. Is it necessary to relogon after every reboot? If so, does someone know of a script style feed for the executable & account/passwd? Thankyou for any related info. It is OK to respond offlist at rossi@cems.uvm.edu VR

If you are having to supply account details at boot, then your installation is faulty. Check that the required file permissions are set.
The UD agent does not install as a service. It runs as the current user. I strongly advise you to migrate to BOINC. BOINC can be installed as a service and will run under the network service account. Again, you must give full control of the installation folder to that account. |

----------------------------------------If u run UD agent, which i doubt reading from your 'relogon' comment, u can install it as a service. Instructions are e.g. here: Q: How do I run UD as a service and still access it? (#10697). Wherever u read United Devices, u'd have to substitute that with the path where the World Community Grid agent is installed. Also found a post by the previous respondent, pointing to this How to run the WCG Agent as a service. I've come to understand that the Extraordinary Unofficial WCG User website is going to be taken off-line soon, so took FinePrint for posterity. Some of that work is being incorporated into the www.WCGwiki.org prior to the event. ciao

That advice is superseded by BOINC. Running UD as a service is an unsupported configuration, and done entirely at your own risk.
Use BOINC if you want a service installation. |
