I recently got a new computer onboard but it was having problems and returned a number of errors. I can filter the results status by a number of ways like showing only certain computers, or only Valid results etc. When I select Error results, and filter, it does not show any erroneous results, but I know that I have them. Just FYI to the admins...

propose 2 steps:
----------------------------------------1. select 'all' on devices and status then filter. 2. Page thru the results until you see one with error If u don't, u've got none or none with error returned under that user name. Applying a filter on a status not in your current set of results, just lists all .....try another status like 'too late' u know u don't have to proof to yourself. ciao

I am absolutely sure that under that username / computer, there are errors. Or, if I leave the computers to "All" and select to filter errors, it still does not filter them. I've tried it enough times to know that it's not user error.

Well dear Chowbow..... As what u said....u know that u have them, but did u see them on any unfiltered result status page? I gave u 2 steps to follow and u did not by the looks of your reaction...... now i'm giving u the ABC per sample below.
----------------------------------------Set A and B as indicated and hit Filter, then one by one hit the pages numbers under C until u see a Work Unit with error and identify the associated computer......then filter on that computer. If u reach 1 by 1 the last page, and none are shown, then there are no WU's with error under the User ID u logged in under OR the 'errors' are in fact 'invalid' or possibly even in 'inconclusive' status. If the error occurred more than 4 days ago after a quorum was established for the err'd WU's (your 'recent' comment), then u wont see them as WCG has send them to the archives. Trying to help u solve a riddle as the 'error' can not be reproduced by another member who took the effort to verify ..... remember! ![]()

Yes, I see them in the unfiltered result status page. The errors go with a computer labeled "Desktop."
I filter all results returned by "Desktop" and it shows that there are error WUs there (a couple pages in). I then filter error'd results returned by "Desktop" and the screen just refreshes but it does not filter anything... It shows Pending / In Progress / Valid / Error WUs. I change the filters back to All and All. Then, I just filter all computers which have returned errors. The screen refreshes, and shows Pending / In Progress / Valid / Error WUs. There are DEFINITELY error WUs, as I can see them when unfiltered, or when I filter by a specific computer. However, if "Error" is selected as a filter, it returns all results, as if I had just selected All. |

It's time for a memory test. When in doubt, memtest86+ works well.
----------------------------------------http://www.memtest.org/ If the computer is overclocked, that can also cause workunit errors.

Okay, now can replicate.... each item in the status filter drop down box has an incremental number....the one with '1' (error) seems not to work. The drop down box has the 'Other' status missing as well.
----------------------------------------https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view...evice=0&filterStatus=1&sortBy=sentTime&pageNum=1 Here the page source code part: <option value="0">Work in Progress</option> <option value="1" selected="selected">Error</option> <option value="2">No Reply</option> <option value="3">Pending Validation</option> <option value="4">Valid</option> <option value="5">Invalid</option> <option value="6">Inconclusive</option> <option value="7">Too Late</option></select> The actual statuses existing are: * Work In Progress - This means that one of your computers is currently working on it * Error - Some event occurred to keep the result from finishing properly. This could be due to the user canceling the result, a BOINC error or a science application error. * No Reply - The result was not returned to the server by the time it was due. * Pending Validation - The result was returned to the server but there have not been enough results for that workunit returned to the server yet for validation to be attempted * Valid - The result was returned to the server and was equal to the majority of results returned for the workunit. * Invalid - The result was returned to the server and was not found to be equal to the majority of results returned for the workunit. * Inconclusive - The result was returned to the server and validation was attempted but the system could not determine which results it should consider to be the valid ones. New results were sent out for this workunit and validation will be attempted again when those results are returned. * Too Late - The result was returned to the server a long time after it was due and so no credit was granted. * Other - The most common reason for this status is that the BOINC server decided that the workunit should be sent out to another computer but prior to the workunit actually being sent again, the workunit was validated.

Yes, it isn't working properly.
I'll bring it to the attention of the techs. |

Yeah, the filtering isn't work correctly. We were having problems with filtering before, and I thought we'd fixed it. I will take another look.

The reason I was getting errors was from overclocking. It was a new rig and now it is back to stable. Have been getting days upon days of valid results now. Just wanted to note the issue to you guys.
