When will WCG activate BOINC Throttle in General Prefs?

Question not on the much discussed throttle on UD Agent, but the lesser debated BOINC curtailment, having a sensed need for those that run hot and suffer from CPU automated down-cycling of the CPU **, lest using e.g. ThreadMaster. As read on the BOINC development site from 5.6.x, BOINC has a feature where one can choose the CPU percent of use. One of the DC projects has in fact already enabled the feature (see screenprint's yellow highlighted). Now, when is WCG expected to add this to their options and when is 5.6.x anticipated to becomethe recommended Agent..... Obviously those not crunching outside WCG, have no access to this General Prefs function yet.

For those not in the know, if running multiple projects, the project where one updates last the General Prefs (GP), will take prevalence over older GP's saved i.e. at WCG. Thus was able to activate this function.

** Science caused Disk trashing also eats into the user experience of front apps.....takes CPU time at higher level of priority, but not sure if that would come out of the BOINC set CPU time limitation.

thx

They should not make the option available until 5.6 is stable. Until then, alpha testers can set the option in their local override file.

WCG will make 5.6 (or whatever version the next stable release is) the official BOINC version shortly after BOINC make an official release.

Excellent, now we know that those in need can work their local prefs override to become early adopters......5.6.0 is cool btw....5.6.1 was retracted and 5.6.3 is just out for those who want to venture (unsupported till then).

thx

I've been having issues with 5.6.3: the project applications are not started properly and the core client still thinks that they're running. I'm not sure whether this happens when the core client tries to wake the applications up when the time of day to run comes up or when the core client is throttling the application.

FWIW, the head version, 5.7.0, solves these issues.
