SMP and *nix support

Program administrators,
Is there a timeline yet for SMP and Linux/UNIX support? I see that there are far too many threads about this, could it be maintined in the administrator only faq section? Also on the member login page can that be set up to notify members when there is a newer client available? Thanks for all the help.

Both of these questions are answered on the Software FAQ. Both of these issues are current limitations of the UD software we're using.

Re: SMP and *nix support

Rick,
What kind of help do you need? I am not a developer, but I may have other resources you could take advantage of like drive space and CPU power.

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Let me know if there is anything you need for testing an SMP or Linux distro, I would be more than happy to provide machines for that. I am using UDtweaker and it seems to take some advantage of SMP.

Thanks again.

OK. We're still in the very early planning stages. One of the ideas we've been tossing around is to have a beta period for the Linux (and possibly Mac) version. If this happens, we'll certianly post a message about it asking for volunteers.
