Whenever listing the 'Recent Threads' and a post is shown with in first 2 lines including a long hyperlink or a hyperlink that is shown verbatim, rather than as per the writers intention like Website Support, it will push the right margin out of view.(Sample A)
----------------------------------------This behavior is not shown, if a subject listing is made in a section, taking the DPC team thread as an example. (Sample B) ![]() Is anyone else suffering from this event? Could WCG amend the code to slim down the description column for the 'Recent Threads' page? thx

My Firefox 1.5.0.6 on Windows XP does not do this. It cuts the url off at the edge of the box without extending the line at all. IE 6 on Windows XP SP2 also does not do this, but it wraps part of the URL to a lower line, then cuts it off at about the same spot (leaving more blank space in the upper line).
Which browser / OS are you using, Sekerob? Lawrence |

Hi LawrenceHardin,
----------------------------------------OS is WinXP SP2 with all the patch bells and whistles. If in Firefox using the 'User Agent Switcher ' to make WCG pages think its being looked at by IE, it renders fine ......suppose u know better than i, how the underlying source code of a web page responds to a browser identification ;>) ciao PS, set for FFX to appear as IE when going to WCG, until they or Mozilla fix it (that hurt and will turn the global stat tides against Firefox)

Here's an explanation:
IE is using '?' as a line break opportunity (perfectly correct, since it's punctuation). FF does not. The reason it looks different on the Recent Threads page is because the table layout is not fixed - the column width depends on the content of the other columns. The reason one page has stretched so wide is because one of the posters has a longer than average username, with no spaces or line break opportunities. There is a rather nice potential solution to this using CSS, but frankly the forum is so low on the priority list that it's barely worth troubling yourself over. By the by, you never answered my email, Sekerob. Did you get it? |
