Hello,
my Boinc Manager starts new Tasks with and To complete estimate of around 800 hours and is not fetching work prior to close or after finishing the task. Could it be that this comes from going to stand by, because since some weeks I go to standby and not hibernating anymore. It seems that it has something to do with that. How can I get the To complete estimate back to the normal hours ? I get always the informatation at task startup: 09/08/2006 12:45:05||Rescheduling CPU: files downloaded 09/08/2006 12:45:05||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. 09/08/2006 12:45:05|World Community Grid|Starting task faah0739_bdb533_mx1bwa_dry_00_0 using faah version 510 09/08/2006 12:45:07||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. oesterreicher, is it correct you receive a WU, finish it, send it back, get a new one i.e. your workbuffer is just only having the active WU and nothing cached?
----------------------------------------Standby....i dont know, but it returns to work much faster than hibernation, thus might be sitting in memory under power.....fooling the BOINC clock? Not read anything like it before. A Maybe is, that BOINC remembers when you first started the WU, then extrapolates the percent progress of past wall-clock time into the future! Some say they're better at time to complete estimation since version 5.4.9. Version 5.4.11 is just out, so why not retrieve that and install. U need to let the WU finish, after that it recalibrates the time to complete for any new project work.... for a change let it run till done without standby and see what happens. PS: Whats the real time from first start of WU to sending the completed result back......if longer than 8 or 9 days, you wont get credit as WCG has a deadline for BOINC of 7 days and a little bit of space for force majeure situations!

The Task normally finish between 6 an 9 hours.
I'll try the new version. Thanks for the information. |
