We have a similar thread on the FAAH forum, so I thought I would start one here as well

Today's Chemical & Engineering News has an excellent lead story called 'Battling Breast Cancer,' which covers how some new drugs are focusing on a family of biomarkers:
http://pubs.acs.org/cen/coverstory/84/8432cancer.html and also an article on another trial to use biomarkers to reduce the use of chemotherapy: http://pubs.acs.org/cen/coverstory/84/8432cover_b.html |

I recently met a women age 37 from online who has cancer in her stomach area and going to die in 6 months. To make a long story short I have come to a belief. That cancer is linked to or maybe even caused or made worse by "Toxic Emotions", deep seated resentments and long term stress. I have noticed certain 'types' of people with certain looks, attitudes, chronic, negative strong emotions seem to get stomach cancers more then other types at the age range of 20's to 40's that I have run across.
I googled and found this interesting article relating toxic emotions to cancer. Emotional stress suppression and lowered immune system. http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/archives2003/mar/03gilbert.html |

Not so much an article as a paragraph that is highly relevant to the project:
Joyce A. O'Shaughnessy, M.D., Molecular Signatures Predict Outcomes of Breast Cancer, New England Journal of Medicine Aug. 10, 2006 edition "molecular-expression profiles have the potential to identify the dominant growth and survival networks (networks of proteins in the breast-cancer cell that enable its growth and survival) assessed by the various predictive assays. There is a great, unmet need in the treatment of ER-negative and HER2-negative basal cancers and ER-positive, high-grade cancers, because the major molecular networks that sustain these cancers are not yet known. With the abundance of molecularly targeted inhibitors available either commercially or within clinical trials, the identification of these survival networks is an urgent research priority." |

Cervical cancer transmits by way of a virus that causes it...... think they're serious in Canada to start innoculating the adolescent populous (including male, as they are the transmitters)......consequently not surprised......be warned of your pets/cats as they can transmit deceases to humans.

Human Papillomaviruses and Cancer: Questions and Answers
"HPVs are now recognized as the major cause of cervical cancer. In 2006, an estimated 10,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with this type of cancer and nearly 4,000 will die from it. Cervical cancer strikes nearly half a million women each year worldwide, claiming a quarter of a million lives. Studies also suggest that HPVs may play a role in cancers of the anus, vulva, vagina, and some cancers of the oropharynx (the middle part of the throat that includes the soft palate, the base of the tongue, and the tonsils) (1). Data from several studies also suggest that infection with HPV is a risk factor for penile cancer (cancer of the penis). " http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/HPV |

Analysis: Chemo Riskier Than Believed
http://news.monstersandcritics.com/health/art...emo_riskier_than_believed This article points out that chemo causes more complications than previously acknowledged and that there is a need to better match treatments to different cancer subtypes to get the best balance of risks and benefits. So, more reason for everyone to keep crunching away! |

Well, imagine what the radiation and kemo drugs do. They lower your immune system overall and kill mass amount of immune system cells.
Like antibotics they lower your immune system and kill off natural good bacteria which balances the bad bacteria. Modern medicine really isn't fully modern. Probotics are probably the way to go. We need treatment plans that strengthen the immune system and body while targeting cancer and bad bacteria. Stem cell technology holds tremendous potential against cancer and a myriad of human illness. This is truly the answer and way to go. |

Stem cell technology holds tremendous potential against cancer and a myriad of human illness. This is truly the answer and way to go. Stem cells certainly hold a lot of potential for medical research, but they are not the end-all for every disease. Research needs to continue in other areas as well (drug discovery, vaccine creation, etc.) |
