When and how to choose project - Help Defeat Cancer

I have downloaded but not yet installed the BOINC program for Linux (hopefully this will run on my Ubuntu machine), but when and how do I limit the project that I want to work on which is "Help Defeat Cancer" ???

Is there a GUI for this program for a Linux machine ?

Thanks.

Simplest project selection hmmmm...... goto http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org hit My Grid, log on and do A, B, C. Voila!

(Of Course, first you need to create member account, but that's kicking in an open door, as u have one, without which u cannot post here ;>))

Re: When and how to choose project - Help Defeat Cancer

How do I know that the program is running ?

When I do run_client, I see some output on the terminal but control is not returned to the terminal.

I do not see anything that is obvious to me on TOP command that shows that the program is running.

P. S. - Instructions that are given on website and those that are issued/displayed at the terminal do NOT match !!!

Thanks.

Why don't they remove Human Proteome Folding (phase 1) isn't it finished?

For Chris_No: It will be removed, i'm sure once there are no more HPF1's coming back....see other threads on that discussion.....yesterday August 5, still 15 came back from slow/part-time machines or members, unaware that HPF has finished.
