Re: Device Storage

Hello BRIAN FITZGERALD,
Go to My Grid - Device Manager - Device Profiles and edit your profile (I am assuming that you are not using default). Be sure to SAVE your new profile after you edit it.

Re: Device Storage

This error is usually caused by confusing megabytes and gigabytes. The most space you can allocate is 10 gigabytes (10 GB).

Remember, after you have changed your profile as described by Lawrence you will have to wait until your agent communicates with the server to get the new setting. This will happen when you start your next work unit at latest.

Re: Device Storage

Hey Brian, these 2 CA's have mentioned in other posts, that the storage value in the profile has next to no impact on the computational rating and functioning of your computer. In reality only a fraction is used of the max of 10gb u can set in the profile of UD and BOINC agent.

The space for your page/swapfile (virtual memory) to grow and shrink is much more important for the functioning of the operation. For most users, the windows default of automatic growth and shrink is perfectly fine.

ciao
