Promote worldcommunitygrid

Hi,

For all who want to easyly promote the WCG.

If you have a Wireless Accesspoint or Router, simply set the SSID to "www.worldcommunitygrid.org". And many Users arround will see the link. And perhaps 80% of them will follow the Link. If the 20% of them will participate, its a good deal :-)

Greets

Chris

confused Re: Promote worldcommunitygrid

Hi,

Being new to the grid, I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before. What an incredible tool! Why has their been so little take up by the general population? I mean myspace has 98,135,065 members! I have posted the WCG on a few groups on myspace but no real response.

What about Microsoft? Surely the work that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation does with global health is directly related? Could it not be incorparated in Windows?
"The foundation's global health mission is to help ensure that lifesaving advances in health are created and shared with those who need them most.

We focus on accelerating access to existing vaccines, drugs, and other tools to fight diseases that disproportionately affect developing countries, and we support research to discover new health solutions that are effective, affordable, and practical for use in poor countries."

Regards,

Joey

Rosetta@Home (or rather the Baker Lab)picked up funding from Bill and Melinda for AIDS research, and the project will be used in the research.

Re: Promote worldcommunitygrid

I have posted a graphic and a link to the World Community Grid on myspace. I keep adding people all the time on here..I've had over 3,000 views to my profile in advertising.

I do not know the outcome or how successful it has or has not been tho.

I suspect doing so violates the TOS for myspace. However, I have seen tons of pages violating it somehow. I believe the cause is still worthwhile and just..how successful? I don't know.

Nearly, 100 million people to choose from! That is a huge recruiting selection.
