I tried at work and at home on two different PC's - Same OS - WinXP SP2 - Followed instructions on the Help Page and Disabled (or added really) the option to let UD.exe run via (Control Panel-> System-> Advanced-> Performance Settings-> DataExecutionPrevention). The Symantec software caused all kinds of problems with a Compaq here. McAfee has problems at different times. I have had very good luck with the free AVG virus software and it has little impact on the system. It will even check the internet for daily updates. Use SOMETHING. The viruses you don't know you have are the ones that are going to get you....and us, if they go out by email because you have neither a firewall nor a virus checker. Now, about that spyware....No blocked ports on the Router (Lynksys). Disabled the "Windows Firewall" all together. Not running any Virus Software at all. (in 20 plus years of computing I have never once had a virus) I even enabled all the other projects but still get the same message - "Sending" / Then "Receiving 3xxx of 3xxx" and then "See Cause, html" This is the cold hard truth - you are missing god knows how many users becuase of this problem. Put the windows firewall back. No problem. God knows why. Here it is: The 3xxx of 3xxx message has been in several other threads. Yes, it is a misleading message. Your computer is not qualified to run the projects you have selected, usually due to not enough memory. One of my own computers only has 512Mb, and is happy running FAAH. My smallest computer is not qualified to run anything now using the UD interface because it is also too slow. It is actually back to work, but using the BOINC interface this time. The requirements are set differently for that and FAAH works well because of the tiny workfiles.
