I saw here that the HPF1 is finished and we are working on HPF2 now but i wanna know when it will be really finished.
----------------------------------------When i check the STATISTICS i saw HPF1 as ACTIVE. When it will be changed to FINISHED, CLOSED, DONE or something like this? And it is still receiving results. Until when it will be receiving? Thanx! ![]() |

Hi Zigfried,
In a sense, HPF1 is already done. But we are still getting work units returned that were sent months ago. We sent out duplicate work units, when needed, so this is no longer necessary, but it is easy enough to let the stragglers send back results. I wonder what the machines are that are doing this? Perhaps laptops that are almost never linked to the internet? Anyway, Dr. Richard Bonneau announced the end of HPF1 in his 18 July 2006 post. We will surely turn off the server receiving results within a few weeks. Lawrence |

Think knreed wrote he'd keep it a bit more on line not to cause agent/server disagreements ;>)

We're working this week to move HPF1 into the Archive section. This will probably be reflected on the website next week Monday.
thanks, Blaine. |

Grid.org is still sending out massive amounts of HPF1 workunits. There were 42 years of results returned yesterday. It's such an unfortunate waste (but let's not start bashing grid.org - I don't want to open a can of worms).

Perhaps you could add a further comment: HPF2 is running exclusively on World Community Grid. As far as I know, the project scientists didn't even offer it to grid.org.

Hi Didactylos an we45dfa35gh3476 the HPF (1) project was shared between grid.org and ourselves.
----------------------------------------The batches of Work Units were separate so there is a chance (I hope so) that those 42 years of number crunching over at grid.org (formerly UD.com) could still be producing useful science. HPF2 will only be running on the WCG as for FAAH and HDC Dave ![]() |

The team section that used to crunch 'over there' used to hold spot #4 and now is daily around # 325 to give u a notion about the truths. Posts confirmed HPF1 is a recrunch of the occupational therapy nature to quote from a UD Engineer post July 27 "This means currently any Rosetta work is for points only." and loads of doubts exist about the current cancer.....except for the diehard 40 or so 'overthere' who admit to be just spotholders, should ethics return, the other 700 or so left! Now lets forget about 'them'....
----------------------------------------.....yesterday 14 HPF1's completed here with a total crunch value of just over 1 day ? .....yesterday 251HPF2's crunched......late arrivals or part of the mop up project to get the validations completed ?? .....yesterday, Friday and this week the weirdest stats curve with ever increasing cPU time reports. 26000+ HDC's done and overall the best day of the week. Summerholidays over or the latency of copy #4 ??? Signed Lean & Mean

FYI - grid.org FINALLY turned off HPF1 this week & no new WUs are being sent out. (It's been left on since 6/20, when HPF1 was officially closed):
