Little question.. could it be the stats update kinda slow here? I read individual stats get updated each 6 hours... I have turned in at least 5 or 6 WU's since yesterday.. but personal stats indicate only 1 ? ![]() And something else... the BOINC client statistics seem to have a different point scale than the WCG stats, is that possible?? BOINC indicates me being @ 73 points, whilst the stats give me +- 400 points for that first WU that showed up... Unlike that other place, "network" is always at 100. The folks over here listened when everyone complained that network speed really means nothing, so the locked it at default. So yes, the points are calculated differently. As for BOINC, you might want to do some research. Since I don't run it anymore (had a linux cpu once), I could be wrong, but I think the "points" for BOINC results are determined after all the results for a specific work unit are turned in. Then some type of comparison is made between the various members and you are assigned points based on how well your computer did in comparison to the others with the same work unit. This might explain the delay in seeing results posted. Like I said, I could be wrong on this. ![]() |

More info: Go to "My Grid", Device Manager, Results Status to see how the BOINC results are queued.

I found a thread that discusses BOINC points. see here:
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=9224 I'm not sure what the advantages/disadvantages of BOINC are. I used it only on the linux computer because the UD agent does not support Linux. ~~~~ On the personal front, I just passed 5000 results, 4 years CPU, and am close to 1 M points at WCG. Guess I've been here longer than I realized. wink ![]() |

Y'all gonna give me a big head!
Must talk to Pinky about my DC stats. Returned my first result sometime last night and still showing me as an invalid name. Figure it might need a little time to update stats or summat? Meanwhile, if y'all don't see me around as much as usual, I've a little real life going on. Thursday's gonna be the real kicker w/ 3 appointments from 1015 all the way around to 1700 ![]() |
