----------------------------------------I did see a post from someone claiming to be from WCG claiming they had deployed the robots.txt file. I started writing a note saying welcome, come in, sit down, do you want a cup of tea? When I pressed the reply button the original post from the WCG person disappeared. Maybe just a blip then on my SIFA@wcg project Dave ![]() |

We have deployed a robots.txt file that should remove the forums from the search engines. It will take several days for the search engines to detect the file and remove the forums from their indexing.
However, these forums are a public space. If you do not wish something to be read by anyone on the internet, please do not post it. |

Dave,
If your SIFA@wcg project runs on linux, then let me know where to download it and I will run it on my personal web server until we are able to deploy a linux client for World Community Grid. Its running seti@home right now. |

Translation Why should we have to resort to techniques like this to keep our forum posts confidential to just World Community Grid? the addie that prolly should've been posted to keep people from ranting all over the place with possible new encryptions of the doggy-text == http://www.ai.mit.edu/people/paulfitz/plank/decoder.html |

Thanks Dave!!
----------------------------------------I bailed out of the forum after your original post. Still detected an almost daily power of 10 increase in SPAM though. Thanks for letting us know. I'll be back when I feel the issue is cleared. I see there is some "official" people in the forum now. Hope they have started to pay some attention to us. Thanks again. <dataman> ![]() |

Hi Dataman
----------------------------------------No new posts on Google but the old ones are still there at the moment. As for Admins well what can you say Me, Dave Bell and Laurencehardin usually beat them to it. All three of us fell over each other posting a response to the same question the other day - very funny. As for proper Admin, Moderators or anybody who can answer any thing out of the ordinary from an insider, developer type perspective it's still pretty much zip. I mean a simple question on what's happen to the Team Logo editing function for instance - total silence. Sorry Dataman nearly started off on another rant there So when are you going to join our team? It's turning into the forum gang so we need you to be on board too (+ I've checked on your results and you seem to be doing very nicely )Already got Dave Bell and Laurence on Board + my buddies and family providing the equivalent of a additional 16.5Ghz processor. We are punching well above our weight. We've just got our new team website plus for the first 50 members to register on the team I can provide a @myonlineteam.info email address Now come on where else can you go on WCG and get a service like that? You know it's the right thing to do Dave ![]() ![]() |

Greetings back Dave A
----------------------------------------I did my part too ... to agitate for some support from the project team. Did my best to help the newbies too. I am very aware of the help you, Dave B, Laurence and some others have given to the Forum. I appreciate it. Thanks ... have returned 51 results with my limited resources. Doing my part as best I can. As to teams ... well, I could not give a "dead dingo's kidneys" about points. Rather silly in my point of view. But can also see how it is important to some with competitive instincts. As long as it gets results returned, it is OK with me. I joined California ... 'cause that's where I am. Best wishes to you and your team ... and for the others that return results. Thanks for hanging on ... <dataman> ![]() |
