Recommended way of utilising PowerEdge server with 64bit Windows 2003

Hi

I'm running Windows 2003 enterprise (x64 edition) on a lightly used development server and I'd be interested in using the WCG application. It appears that this is a user mode application, is there a service-based variant which will run without having a user logged on?

BOINC supports installation as a service. Go back to the download page, and chose BOINC. It will run as "network service" or under any account you specify. Also, it supports multiprocessor and multicore systems.

I agree with Didactylos. Instructions for conversion are here

If you want to stay with the UD agent and do not need multi-core or multi-processor support, there is a (not for the faint of heart but works) proceedure to make the UD agent run as a service. I do not know if it has been tried on 64bit Windows 2003 or not, but it stands to reason that it would work. It is located here
