I'm searching for a low budget new computer and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the Sempron 3200+ from Compaq. Is it a good machine for everyday use? I'm not a gamer at all, I will use it for Internet, Word and Excel and, of course, WCG!

Hi JeromeD,
My second computer is a Compaq Presario Sempron 3100+ running at 1.81 Ghz. I am happy enough with it. It seems faster than most of the other computers in my BOINC quorums, though there are many faster computers. The BOINC benchmarks give it 1662 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) and 3165 integer MIPS (Dhrystone). Lawrence |
