Not that this will do It... I open the Firewall for ud , Rosetta and the number... also keept this pc's antivirus from scanning the grid ...Had but isn't now put the server IP into the trusted sights .... Most likely may have resolved on it's own ... as in an most recently thread talked about .... ThankYou for your Thread Post

With such a fast computer, you may get far better performance using BOINC. Why not try migrating now, while UD is stuck in the mud?
Exit UD, but leave it installed. Install BOINC using the instructions provided on the registration page (or go straight there). Attach to WCG, again following the provided instructions. If everything goes well, uninstall the old UD agent. Finally, watch your statistics take a sudden skyward leap! :-) |

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried to restart the computer one more time and now it works :)
If it happens again I'll install the BOINC client.... Beetle.... |

I also have a computer that will not connect, and it just started having this problem. I have been running work units for about 6 mos on it, and last week it stopped connecting. Nothing in my network has changed, nothing was installed or changed on the computer (connects to net fine, surfs fine, connects to others computers on network fine), tried disabling winXP firewall, tried disabling DEP, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried renaming the computer.
Any thoughts? (other than trying BOINC) Intel 733 192 mb ram 10 gb hd Thanks! |

And I also changed my preferences to download both types of work units, AIDS and Protein.

That Intel 733 definitely wont fly on a HPF2 diet with 192mb Ram....maybe FAAH.

Gatsby, your answer is in your post.
The computer has 192 MB of RAM, the minimum requirement is 250 MB. If you read the Member News forum, you will find all the details about why. |

4 Sec Didactylos .....the 250mb RAM is 250mb after deduction of RAM taken by the Display.....thus 320mb is probably a closer requirement if no specific video card is on the machine
