Re: I WAS at 100%, now about 60% cpu

Scubadoo,

Sekerob posted within the last few days on setting a system/environment variable to specify the throttle setting. It seemed to me to be a much better way than the registry key. I don't recall the details but a search should turn it up.

Re: I WAS at 100%, now about 60% cpu

Didn't work for me, on my system the "tool" sets the registry key for the current user, but the agent is looking for the default user.

Any reason why this should be using HKLM instead of a user key?

247.00569153 WCGridMaxCPU.ex:2780 SetValue HKCU\Software\IBM\World Community Grid\CPU Throttle SUCCESS 0x64

Are you running the agent under another user id or as a service perhaps? Even though many people are doing it, running the agent as a service is entirely unsupported. OK, disclaimer out of the way.

If you are running it as a service, the environment variable solution should work for you.
