I have only been crunching for WCG about 3 weeks.
Can someone tell me where I can see what work units have been sent to me - what has been received back by WCG and what is pending credit. I have processed 24 WU and sent them back, My Grid Received only shows WCG as recieving 16 and My Grid Stats History only shows 11 as credited. I have lost about 33% of my work units that have been processed and sent back. Thanks for your time to answer this noobie. teemac (Australia) |

Since you suggest not to have seen points coming to you, we must assume u use BOINC and not UD Agent, which gives points immediately upon transmission.
----------------------------------------This questions is asked daily, but here is the simple aswer to see your list of 'recent' work. BOINC only gives points when the socalled 'quorum of 3' has been established. Meaning, 2 more copies of the same workunit are send out to other computers. Only when the returned results of 3 computers agree/are near identical, will points be awarded. See FAQ for explanations. If less than 3 results for same work unit are returned, your WU will get the "Pending Validation" status. To see the list, go to www.worldcommunitgrid.org and hit the "My Grid" in the page top bar at right. Select 'Device Manager' in left margin and then 'result status' in same spot. There you have the list, which you can filter as can by seen in top section. Let us know if troubled.

If you are using UD agent (United Devices) then you don't get much detail on the status of your results, pending credit, etc. However, someone with the required priveleges will likely be along shortly to look into this for you.
If you are using the BOINC agent then you can go My Grid -> Device Manager -> Results Status and get lots of detail. If you're not using BOINC then you might consider migrating to it. BOINC logs processing errors and additional details in files in your computer's BOINC folder as well as allowing the detailed reports on the WCG website. |

Thanks Sekerob & Dagorath for the quick reply.
I'm sorry for such dumb questions - but I am using BOINC and most other projects have these statistics in an easily found place. I was only wondering about the results received - because they don't add up to what I have sent back to WCG eg: I have sent several back in the last few days and the number received says none received in the last 63 hours. I will get used to the way WCG displays these in time. Thank you again for the help. teemac (Australia) |

You think your questions are dumb? Sheesh, take a look at some of my questions if you wanna see what dumb is all about
![]() The only explanation I can think of (and it may not be correct) is that the results you've returned in the past 63 hours have had errors and have been discarded. If you go My Grid -> Device Manager -> Results Status, you'll see a list of the units WCG has sent to you. The list may span more than one page. See if any of your units have "error" in the Status column. |

There is a certain lag time in assigning BOINC credits. At the moment I am on vacation, and ran my queues down to the end and finished the last workunit 7 days ago since I will be gone for more than a week. I then turned off the computers and departed. Yesterday, I got 886 points, which means that a workunit was waiting at least that long to be resolved.
----------------------------------------The answer is to just keep crunching. My computers run 24/7 when I am at home. Your points should approach a consistent average over time even with delays factored in. I have not encountered any discarded credits, unlike some other projects. Most lack of credits I have seen here is caused by either excessive overclocking or a bad stick of computer memory. In less than a week, I will fire up my own computers and rejoin the active crunchers. It will probably take several days to build up my points to my best level, even though my fastest machines can turn in a FAAH every 5 hours.

That is what shows up on your 'My Grid - My Statistics ' page. Your 'My Grid - My Statistics History ' also shows 16 results. You have one result that is pending validation and you have one result that you are currently working on. Why do you think that you have processed 24 workunits? The data available indicates that you have processed 17. If you do have information which indicates that you have returned more then 17 workunits please post that information here or send it to us at support@worldcommunitygrid.org. Thanks, Kevin |

knreed - Thanks for the help.
I don't have any evedence left - I reboot my computer once each week and all the logs in boinc look like they reset themselves. When I first started I used the program on the main page - UD I think it is called - several (I can't remember exactly now as the details I had I deleted days ago) WU's were processed with this and sent back. I was then advised by several different people to change over to BOINC. This I did around the end of May, the first couple of WU's were sent in and I could not find any trace of them in My Results or Pending. I am not worried about losing a couple - my main concern was that I can keep track of them somehow - what is sent to me by WCG, what I receive, what I have sent back and what is validated. I didn't want to be wasting computer time processing work units that were invalid due to something wrong on my computer system. Something that I needed to fix at my end to stop losing WU's. Thanks for the concern anyway - but as I said I'm not too worried now I know where to look for info in My Grid - Device Manager - Results Status. I thought they would have all been under My Grid - My Statistics. I now know they are broken up and in a couple of places. Thank you for your time to concern yourself with my problems. teemac (Australia) |

A complete log (I use the officially endorsed 5.4.9 version), is in the program Boinc directory and called "stdoutdae.txt". You can reconstruct from there which WU's you received and send back and with what state.
----------------------------------------If u add BOINCview, a supplementary BOINC account manager it has a tab for "completed work". I've never had a bad WU since using BOINCView (june 11)...thus can't say if there are any other messages but "successfull" on each WU returned. It gives things like time returned, amount of CPU time it took to crunch, WU specific number and Type of WU. On the request list is the BOINC points received back for each WU.
