i was using the wcg agent for a while, and decided to switch to boinc. i checked my results list recently for wcg, and found this:
----------------------------------------http://img209.imageshack.us/my.php?image=whatthe2aq.jpg yesterday i actually saw a WU crash, it was at like 35% and then it jumped to 100% and got a "error in computation" or something. here is the screenshot of the error i actually got to see http://email.noao.edu/~markgrandi/wcg_error_5-29-06.PNG why am i getting so many errors and invalid results? btw, "localhost.localdomain" is the linux client and "unibrowser" is the windows client [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mark Grandi at May 30, 2006 11:35:36 PM] |

Hello Mark Grandi,
It looks as though unibrowser has a glitch. Try downloading some diagnostic programs from the Useful Utilities thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 In particular, I suggest: 3) Memory Tester: http://www.memtest86.com/ Memory diagnostic program 2) CPU Tester: http://7byte.com/index.php?page=download General diagnostic program Lawrence |

If your system is overclocked, you will probably have to back it off until the errors in computation go away.
----------------------------------------If any case, make sure the memory passes that memory test above.

i actually reinstalled windows today (a lot of things were screwing up), so ill check back later and see if its still screwing up. it might of been windows, cause it was prone to have explorer.exe crashing, not shutting down when i tell it to... etc.
