I have been running Boinic for months now. I had the older software.
Never had a problem. But I wanted to ask a question, just to double check my setup. Like I said, I have about 3 older PC's running Boinic. I have about 3 different projects that I joined. I attached to each of these projects on each machine, with the same user account. I never setup different device profiles. I do not think there is any need. When I look at the web info site, I see that it realizes that I have the 3 machines running. So is it necessary to setup different device profiles if all the machines are the same and you want the same settings? And if it is not necessary, what is the reason for setting up different devices profiles or have I just answered my own question. That it is only necessary if I want the different machines to do say for example use different hard drive space. Boinic is not download the same project data on each machine, each machine is getting different data to work on even though I'm logged on with the same account. If I don't have this thinking correct please let me know. Thank you. Robert Lanza rlanza1054@aol.com |
