User Vice Admin Privileges on XP

I put the shortcut in all users startup, loads fine, but doesn't function on the problem at hand. I guess it doesn't have privileges to the directory where the problem data is stored. Both the user and admin on this computer are me. I just prefer operating from a user login when on the net. Is there a way to relocate this data to a shared area of this computer????

I have never done this, but that is what I would try. Right click on the grid icon and EXIT. Uninstall, then go to the Join Now page and reinstall in the Shared Documents folder. Then move the shortcut to All Users - Start. Anybody who has actually handled this problem want to tell us how?

I'm not sure if you are having the same problem that I had but I got around it by installing the program in a limited account by saying 'run as' and then as 'Administrator.'

On second thought, I would first try just moving the subdirectory after I exited the Agent. Then I would create a new shortcut to UD.EXE and put that in the All Users - Start directory. Only after that failed would I try the uninstall.

Re: User Vice Admin Privileges on XP

I initially installed under my admin account and tried to get this stuff to work under a restricted user account. By allowing access to the world grid folder I got the restricted user account to start processing, however my points never accumulated properly. I finally ended up uninstalling and reinstalling. I changed my restricted user account to a admin account, reinstalled world grid and changed the account back to a restricted user account. All is now working find. Bottom line is you have to install world grid under the account you plan to run the program under. Or at least, that was my experience. One word of warning....it took about 3 days of returning results before my storage was finally update to 5 gigs from .98 gigs.

Generally speaking your profile changes do not update untill you complete a work unit and upload it and download a new work unit.
At this time your profile should update to your chosen configuration.
There is an Admin reply in one of the posts explaining this but i cannot remember which one.
