when i open task manager, it says that the agent is only using a maximum of 50%/50% of my 3.2E P4 ... is there a way to maximize this to 100%/100% ? I have sufficient cooling to do this 24/7... can anyone offer assistance?

There are numerous posts on this. Here is a thread that I contributed to:
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=484 A hyperthreading computer can run 2 threads ?simultaneously? so Windows Task Manager reports 50% usage if only one thread runs. But as explained in the thread, the actual throughput of 2 threads is a lot less than twice as fast, because they are both crammed into the same pipeline, jostling each other for servicing. |
