Whoohoo 4 years of run time completed

I know it's not much in the great scheme of things, what with 36,578 years of the number crunching not being done by me biggrin but I thought I'd celebrate anyway.

Only 1 year and 98 days of crunching to do to match my UD.com/Grid.org runtime - it won't be long smile

Anyway party time clown

Dave

Woow! Great score!
Yesterday I got halfway your score. I just passed 2 years cool . So I have a little while to go, but sooner or later I'll get there.

BTW: Are you still crunching for grid.org/ud.com or just here?

Re: Whoohoo 4 years of run time completed

Hi depriens

I crunched for UD/grid on the the Ligandfit and Think Cancer research projects and smallpox, until the day of the launch of the WCG on the 16th November 2004. I managed to make it into one of the first 5000 smile registered over here.

The teething troubles I had been through over at UD gave me the chance to make myself useful over here on the WCG as the initial agent was much the same just with a nicer colour scheme wink

5 years 97 days 4 hours 32mins and 16 seconds for Grid.org and only just over 1/2 Million points it just shows how much quicker PC's are today. It says I signed up there on the 7th April 2001 I think I might have been running a 333Mhz Celeron at the time which went via a 733Mhz P111 and just onto a 2100+ Athlon

I have always liked the idea of a "World Community" - working together for the good of Mankind.

btw my points score is a little skewed I've been BOINC'ing and the points no longer line up with those of UD but I've stuck with it as it's slightly more efficient than UD (it has a built in UDmon and it can run as a service officially and one day when I get one of those new fangled multi core CPU's it will run on all cores shock). So more number crunching gets done which is the real reason I'm sure why we are all here.
Hence the run time celebration blushing

The second WCG Newletter has just turned up in my inbox. The feedback we now get here is just one reason why I'm sticking with the World Community Grid.

Dave

Re: Whoohoo 4 years of run time completed

I didn't see the newsletter yet. I probably signed up using my Hotmail account. So I have to work my way through all the spam and other junk. I think it's better to change my subscription to my 'real' address.

Just keep on crunching David! wink cool
