Was thinking of trying to incorporate the grid into workplace network (Roughly 300 PCs). Anybody done this yet ? If so any suggestions.

A word of warning, friend. Be very careful what you do in respect of workplace PCs. Some employers will permit this type of thing, but many absolutely forbid it. I would not wish to see you become unemployed because of your wish to do the best possible for WCG. If in doubt. ask permission.

Re: United Kingdom

A good warning but not to worry Warlock, I am in charge of the whole network so I won't be sacking myself smile

If I can find out how to do it, especially using a single internet security log on with no conflicts . Been trying to get a connection through a remote Symantec web firewall with no user log on at the time. No luck yet sad

Also using a non standard windows network with significantly locked down user profiles (A large school network running RM Connect 3). My main aim is to have WCG running as a screen saver when no user is currently logged onto the machine. It is easy to set up WCG on individual machines with a user profile loaded (logged on) but when trying to get WCG to work during redundant time (not logged on) the client will not make a web connection as no user profile has been loaded.

Due to work constraints I can not spend vast amounts of time trying to set it up.

applause United Kingdom

Hi Canthus,

Can't help you with this myself - but if you post it in the "member-to-member support" there are lots of really nice & helpful people who can. That number of crunchers will be a great addition to the WCG cause! applause applause biggrin biggrin
