What makes wcg different with grid.org since both are working on same project.
If i run grid.org's agent I could not run wcg's agent. (vice versa). Where can scientist look for data ? from grid.org or wcg ? or both ? (both means redundancy data means redundancy works means wasted cpus time) Why not combine power to build more powerful grid since working on same project. (last : why does this smileys looks the same as ym's ?) ![]() ![]() ![]() (sorry for bad english) |

We've recently updated our FAQs and this question is answered here: Project FAQs. I'll summerize here though. grid.org and World Community Grid are partners in this first project. We are both running the same Human Proteome Project. However, we have completely different work units. In the end, the results all go back to The Institute for Systems Biology. ISB owns the data and the results. They will be the ones who will be releasing their findings to the public. World Community Grid simply provides the vehicle for their project to run. The primary difference between grid.org and WCG is in the future. Future projects that are run on WCG will only run on WCG and not on grid.org.
