tongue Multiple CPUs, progress update latency....

The client software does not seem to utilize multiple CPUs normally. Help me out: I have 2 and 4 CPU systems, and it does not seem to use all CPUs equally, or at even additional CPUs at all. (task manger uneven, or not taxed like single CPU systems; 4 550Mhz not equal 1 2.2 Ghz system) Is this a function of the OS, or the grid SW? Am I missing something????
Also, I have it running on 5 systems, but the accumulated points and time since last completed submission are way off on the www site VS. the client software. I've finished 9+ work units, but the site still sais 4 completed, last submission 72+ hours ago, and last update 22 hours ago UTC...??? How about more frequent updates? I'm left wondering if the progress that is taking my systems sooo very long is being counted....Anyone have answers to these questions? I'm probably not grasping a few points here....??

Re: Multiple CPUs, progress update latency....

The Program itself doesn't support multiple or even HT intel CPUs, single thread only apparently.
The site update seems to be a real problem with most people. WCG apparently only updates statistics every 12 hours, and even then it seems to be way off. Yet the client can update immediatly... The most likely situation is they're on completly different servers that aren't linked, and only link every now and then as it probably disallows the client to connect whilst it's updating the webpage stats.
Hopefully there will be an update to both of these somewhat major flaws in the program.

Re: Multiple CPUs, progress update latency....

ok the non multiple threads explains a question I had. Got a friend running on a quad 3.0 system while i'm running a single 2.53 system and yet he is only getting points about 10% faster than me. It's cause that sweet quad system is doing him no good hahaha :)
