Hello retep57,
----------------------------------------I have never done this, but you will have to update your preferences to say On multi-processors, use at most "2". Use BOINC Manager or sign in to the website and choose 'My Grid' - 'Device Manager' - 'Device Profiles' and update your BOINC profile. If you change this on the website, it will not propagate to your client until your client contacts the server, so BOINC Manager is faster. thanx lawrence, i am not sure but i could not see boinc manager for linux, the site read windows and mac os, i did see in the device profile a setting for computers and it seemed to be set as default max for multiple cpu(cores?) i amnot sure if boinc linux supports mult core or not. i might have to do another project so as not to waste a core unless i can figure this out, thanx anyway i have rechecked the cores for more than 1 ( ie left it at "default) 4 cores even though i oonly have 2 asfaik... thi is 1st w/unit so i hope it might think again after return or job, settings seemed to see only one core :(
