Hi,
I haven't found (or I'm blind?) anywhere information about how much % is done ? I've seen thread and articles saying its half done and then they're going on the next phase... But is there anything in real time? That would be nice to follow it up! Thanks |

http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/ currently shows that we are through 88% of Phase 1A. This is not real time. It is updated several times a month.

From my calculations at the time it was announced that FAAH Phase 1a was 88 per cent completed that each percentage point represented 97 years of processing. At the rate the data is being presently processed we should reach 9700 years (100% completion of Phase 1a) at about March 15th, which is about five days from now.

Right now we are at 9,458 years of processing (97.5% complete). 242 more years of processing are needed to reach the estimated 9700 years needed to complete Phase 1a. At the present rate of processing 9700 years should be reached at about 0:00 GMT on March 15, 2006, just over two days from now.

Good stuff.
Anyone knows how long should be the next phase? (appro. years) |

Phase 1B requires about half as many dockings as Phase 1A. If they take a similar amount of computation (which seems reasonable) then - half as long as Phase 1A.
----------------------------------------http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/news/vol1.html describes each phase if you want to precisely calculate the number of docking attempts needed for each phase. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 12, 2006 8:49:33 PM] |

Again, is there anyone who would be able to tell me, always approximative, how much time left is there for a possible cure?
10 years? 6 months? Whatever approximative! Thanks |

Again, is there anyone who would be able to tell me, always approximative, how much time left is there for a possible cure? This is a computer preprocessing effort to identify promising drugs. It could take anywhere from a few months to several or many years to make the drugs and test any results, depending on which drugs they started with and how they worked. We can say that the computer testing saves several years on the timeline. Many wasted drugs do not have to be used now since we can show that there would be no action. Since this is the FIRST task, it is difficult or impossible to say how long the remaining tasks would take.10 years? 6 months? Whatever approximative! Thanks "Cure" assumes too much since that could be many steps down the road and the results might not be that definitive. The Pure Food and Drug Act of 1908 does not even allow that word to be used on medicines any longer since the "cures" in use at the time did not work. How long will it be until cancer is cured? How long will it be until diabetes is cured? How long will it be until heart disease is cured? The cures (if any) have not been discovered. How long will it be until the earth is swallowed by the sun? Those are arbitrary questions.
