Hi
----------------------------------------![]() I just attached to this project and am a little confused about one thing. The information on the website states that only Windows machines can currently opt in or out of specific projects. I'm running Linux but when I went to My Grid - Projects, it accepted my opt-in to the FightAids@Home project - or seemed to ( I hadn't seen the info about Windows machines only until after I'd done that) Has there been a change that means Linux machines can now also opt in or out, or was that just a site fluke that won't actually be implemented in my client? ![]() |

As I recall, with the BOINC agent, you can choose projects only at the user level (applies to all devices). With the UD agent, you can do that at the device level.

Sorry to be so thick but I have no idea what that means ![]() One other question while I'm here ... I can't find a place anywhere here under my account to set the resource share for the WCG project. In my Seti account I have it set for 75% of resources and I was wanting to make this project 25% - same as I had things arranged when I was crunching Seti and Eistein together. Where can I set this resource share allocation for WCG? The account set up for this project is a little different to what I'm used to so I'm a bit lost right now. Thank you for your help! ![]() |

Hi justakiwibird,
You can choose which projects you want to run at 'My Grid' - 'My Projects'. BOINC forces you to choose for all computers linked to the WCG. UD allows you to choose WCG projects for each computer. Go to 'My Grid' - 'Device Manager' - 'Device Profile' and create a new profile. You can set the 'Project Weight' in it. Remember -- Project Weight is not a percentage. BOINC sums all the project weights and then determines percentages for each project. |

Ah, thanks! ![]() One more thing - and then I'll leave you all in peace - I notice that the application running is actually rosetta. I was under the impression that rossetta@home was a completely different project. I was actually crunching it for a while a few months back as per this link: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ Does that mean I'm actually crunching rosetta again only under WCG? Again, I'm a little confused. Is this the Human Proteome Folding project? I thought this was something completely different ![]() ![]() |

HPF uses Rosetta to fold proteins. Rosetta@home is improving the Rosetta program. Here are some links discussing HPF:
