BOINC Show Stats

A few months back, it was explained that this field in the user profile is
That button will cause your user id to be exported with the hosts in the BOINC xml stats export. These files are used by some external sites such as:

[url]http://www.boincstats.com/[/url]
[url]http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index.php[/url]

and
Having it off also prevents someone from getting a look at who owns those machines on the site here, or linking from your account page to your machines on this site.

From what I have seen looking at those two sites is that is just doesn't display how many devices you have. You still show up in the stats. Just what risks are you taking, if any, by checking that box?

All that can be seen are stats, this can't be used to connect to your computers.

Thanks! That's what I thought. Since it was an option though, I wondered if there was a reason for it being optional. Probably there for folks who don't want to be known. smile
