We started the Community Administrator (CA) position in early 2005. The CAs currently serving in this position were carefully chosen because they had a proven record of providing extremely accurate and timely information about World Community Gridto other members. As a result, we decided to create the Community Admin position to recognize them for the value they provide and to give them access to communicate directly with the World Community Grid support team. The position has been evolutionary in nature and so the exact set of responsibilities of the Community Administrator has not always been well defined. As such, we are defining the position as follows:
Effective immediately, the CA position is changing is follows: 1. The title of the CA’s is being changed to Community Advisor. This name change reflects more accurately the role of a CA. 2. A CA is expected to do the following: a. Provide guidance and answer questions to the World Community Grid members at large, and b. Bring suggestions, questions or problems to the attention of the World Community Grid support team. 3. The Community Advisor role will not include any forum moderation duties. 4. In the past, CAs had two members names: one for use as a CA and one for use as a regular member. Effective immediately, CAs will only have one member name. Please remember that the CA role is strictly voluntary and the CAs donate much of their own free time on the forums for no pay and very little appreciation. We would ask all members to respect the CAs and the great service they provide. Also, any member can nominate another member for the CA position. Please use the contact us feature found on the bottom of every page to nominate members to the CA team. Only members who have a history of providing accurate and reliable forum answers will be considered for the CA role. Along with this post, we are updating the Forum Rules to reflect this change. A hearty thank you to all members for your continued support of the CA program. |
