Re: Isn't there a way of increasing the frequency of project saves by the user?

Would it be possible to signal checkpoint reached?

Hello DRW,
I believe that FightAIDS@Home checkpoints each time the graph reaches the right end of the screen and starts over. Of course, sometimes it just gets near the edge, then retreats a little, and loops like that for a long time.

Re: Isn't there a way of increasing the frequency of project saves by the user?

UD Agent i parked 1.5 months ago and wished i'd read the BOINC threads from the beginning at WCG shhh.....there are 14211 sofar (June 1, 2006) who made the switch to that Agent, or started directly with that at WCG.

If not wanting to switch to BOINC, UD Mon is the alternate answer as an add-on. You can set the save frequency in there, and also hit the save (backup) button prior to closing, but still work will resume from the last datapoint.

Sofar, the non-fix, here your solution: BOINC

Sales points on BOINC are many, you wont get the fancy graphs or screensaver, but those only eat CPU time. Before exiting BOINC, hit the suspend button on the WU in progress. Prior to that make sure that the option, to unload the WU from memory is set. Whenever i do that, i loose UP TO 7 minutes tops. One more thing, depending on how you're connected and other settings, u have to suspend other WU's in queu too, else it would start the next one, or starts fetching new work.

BOINC is slightly more involved than UD, but once you got that running, you crunch together up to twice as much WU's depending on the machine u use (hyperthreaded or dual core)

Why i'm here....just got up to check on a big none Grid computing job, one that does make a living.....its finished so back to morpheus arms .... shhh
