Re: No New Work From Project

We members easily notice problems with the client and application. However, there are also problems with the server-side BOINC code. knreed has posted on the difficulties the server sometimes has when sending out work units of different types which causes it to delay. Apparently this would not happen if we only had 1 project for 1 platform (meaning 1 queu). Oh well, eventually all the bugs will be worked out. Until then, it is still a Doonesbury 'Still a Few Bugs in the System' situation.

Please let us know if this happens again. I have put in place some changes that should improve this and reduce the frequency of this happening.

thanks,
Kevin

Re: No New Work From Project

knreed -

Will do. I'll make a note to check my log files daily. I did run into this one this morning when I read my logs. They were highlighted in the log as RED :

2/21/2006 08:30:40 AM - Couldn't connect to hostname [secreure.worldcommunitygrid.org]
2/21/2006 08:30:41 Shceduler request to https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/cgi/wcg_cgi/fcgi failed with a return value of -106
2/21/2006 08:30:41 AM No schedulers responded

Then at 08:31:47 AM Another scheduler request went out, Reason was to report results and the scheduler responded properly.

What is your cgi error value -106 .. ?
