Re: To all UK Members

Graham

Thank you for removing you recruitment to MOT to the proper place.

I find your response rather bewildering and petty to say the least. All I did was to point out to you, as no doubt an Admin would have, that you were recruiting outside of your team thread.

As for the team banner we are currently using, I have noticed that you have admonished forum members before for thanking you for the unsolicited banners that are being used. I added the banner to my signature when requested to do so by my then Tean Captain. I assume that he thanked you for it at the time it was provided, but if it pleases you " Thank you very much for the team banner, Graham and for allowing us to use it." As to the cost I assume that you are doing this of your own free will and not being forced into doing so, but I am happy to pay you for the cost of providing this. Just let me know how much and I will send you a cheque. You have my E-mail address since you have just sent me what I consider an abusive E-mail.

As for your other remark I assume that it is linked automatically from the space provided in "My Forum Profile." As it upsets you I have edited it.

Must be a football suporter sad

I took the time to explain my reasons for posting a reply to a member in a thread that I did not resurrect
I started that thread last November and it has long since been dead
You chose to ignore my explanation and continued to accuse me of breaking the rules
Since when was I not entitled to respond to a members request for information in any thread on the forum?
For the last time I was not recruiting, as this member had already requested that he wanted to join my team
I was furnishing him with the details that he requested which is my right
I did not instigate this request, so how in Gods name can you call this recruiting
You chose to peruse this further by advising me that you would prefer me to recruit in the MOT team thread
As I was not recruiting I do not see how that comment was relevant
You are not an Admin so how can you be in no doubt that an Admin would have chastised me for my actions
I feel that I did not break the rules and will be happy to get an Admin to point this out to you if you want to persist
You obviously feel that you are right so I will get a ruling on this and I will apologise to you if I am wrong
Conversely, I hope you will apologise to me if I am right

Graham

I am not going to argue with you over this I have better things to do, as I'm sure you have. You have removed the post to the another place, which I have acknowledged. As far as I am concerned that is an end to the matter.

Re: To all UK Members

Mind if I add my 2 pence worth here?

Firstly, the
rules state:
Please run one team thread only per team in the Team Forum unless there is a major milestone event to celebrate
If this is the case, then when a new team thread is started, the old one should be locked and then pruned at a later date. For one reason or the other, maybe caused by the change of team name or just an oversight, this did not happen.

Another member was quite rightly then able to respond to this thread asking for more information. I believe that in this instance, Graham was well within his rights to point them towards the new team. At this point, this thread should have been identified as a duplicate team thread and locked as it is no longer current.

I really don't see that this length of debating and name-calling is required for such an insignificant incident. I don't think that anyone is to blame for anything here. Can we let it rest?

Bigger picture: We're all doing this for the same cause - the points and teams are just for fun!

Please can we lock this now?

Re: To all UK Members

Frankly, I feel that every time someone posts in a thread with a team advertisement in their signature, it could be construed as recruiting for that team. If you want to take such a constructionist view of the forum rules, then please remove any advertisement for your (or any other) team from your signature.

However, I believe that signatures add personality to the forums and to posters in the forums. The Admins and Techs let it go because it's better for the forums.

As for this thread, some members might consider it a recruiting thread for MOT, so I will lock it to avoid any more confusion.
