I realize some of these have been mentioned before but I figured it wouldn't hurt to create a comprehensive list.
1. Log Files - to help in troubleshooting and problem determination. 2. Decimals in Progress Numbers - Adding 2 decimal places (e.g. 6.84%) will allow those of us that have slower machines running feel like those devices are still making progress. 3. Device Management - The ability to roll up the points earned from and remove a device that is no longer running from our lists. 4. More Frequent Statistics Updates - For those who may be running multiple machines, you may already have noticed that as any box returns a work unit, your statistics update on that client. If the clients can update the numbers as WU are reutrned, can we get the statistics pages to update more frequently? Hourly maybe if real-time is beyond the capabilities at the moment? Anyone else have any ideas? Semper Paratus |

5. Adjustable max processor load - Prevent CPU/Chipset overheating, mostly with notebooks.
6. Translation of the client if it's a "World Community", it should be able to speak the languageS (my specific request would be French language interface) 7. Communication between team organizer & members Allow messages to be sent to the team members (a "Message" icon in the "Member Information" area). That's important for team cohesion. 8. Adaptative task sizing If possible, size the tasks so that weak processor/low memory machines get the lowest complexity tasks 9. Tasks prefetch getting at least 2 tasks at once would allow a new task to be loaded in case the machine is not connected when the current task finishes. |

10. Thread count - Multi CPU or HT enabled machines can only run with one thread. Could be easily solved with dual thread or so.

13. Far fetched - but how about that gpu power just sitting there... Making it available to the WCG and as an added bonus and incentive to join up - making it available to the user as well...
----------------------------------------http://www.sintef.no/static/AM/gpu/summary.html http://graphics.stanford.edu/projects/brookgpu/index.html 14. Easy way to exit the UD gui quickly - without having to manually kill it from task manager (If for some reason mem needs to be freed up to do something else, or for whatever reason one might need to shut it down for more than five minutes)... 15. Easy way to deinstall the agent, to correct problems with bugs that might go away when reinstalled and so on... This is closely linked to the exit-feature in #14 - as add/remove programs won't touch the software while it's running. A good uninstaller would close down the software and uninstall it on it's own. Another nice feature would be the ability to choose -complete- reinstall so that -all- files related to the agent are refreshed and healthy. 16. A count-down timer as well. As it is now it's just displaying used time. [Edit 3 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 24, 2004 5:24:41 AM] |

21. Fix the Statistics pages - This morning, I looked at the updated statistics, and even though I saw 3 of my machines send in results before the update time, the stats page only shows 2 of my machines, with the CPU times completely off. Something really needs to be done about the stats, because at this point, I'm not seeing any progress at all.
