Re: FAAH Error

Could there be 2 machines there with the same address?

There are several pages of messages that can be searched in the box at upper right with "network problem". That may also give some other problems and solutions.

Re: FAAH Error

No, there are no duplicate addresses on the network.

Maybe I find something when looking into the search results.

Looking at the BOINC Wiki at
http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?tit...%28hex-number%29%27%29%29

Message Type: Error Message

This Message means that the BOINC Client Software, Science Application, or Operating System encountered a severe error. It should be noted that these errors may not indicate a specific problem with the software, but may be the result of a confluence of stray interactions that produces, um, a negative effect.

Unrecoverable error for result '(result)' ( - exit code -'(number)' ('(hex-number)'))

Considering the network message, I expect that this is a problem at the operating system level. But I have no clue just what went wrong.

Re: FAAH Error

Thank you for this info.

The funny thing is, that only FAAH WUs are generating this error message. Not all, but many of them. The Folding WUs are crunched without any problems.

Another message I receive from the server is:

World Community Grid 2006 02 14 02:04:50 Requesting 172800 seconds of new work, and reporting 1 results
World Community Grid 2006 02 14 02:04:55 Scheduler request to https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/fcgi succeeded
World Community Grid 2006 02 14 02:04:55 Message from server: No work sent
World Community Grid 2006 02 14 02:04:55 Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 results)

Why is the daily quota set to 1 result ? Is this related to the erroneous FAAH WUs ?

Re: FAAH Error

Hello ifg@work,
(reached daily quota of 1 results)
This means that the server has marked your machine as unreliable and will only send it work to see if the problem has ended.

If you look at the 'Useful Utilities' thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 there are a number of diagnostic programs, though none are good at network problems, if that is what is wrong.

You might as well uninstall, then try a reinstall. Do not bother to pull in more than 1 work unit at a time while testing.
