Thread: Removed all files ... gives me same device twice |

Hi there,
I am running boinc on two Linux systems. Yesterday I had a strange problem: the client stopped, all my running jobs vanished. On the first system, I could restart boinc without a problem. On the other system, I was told: "another instance already running". I used the boincmgr to check ... and reset my complete project in the end. Nothing did help. In the end, I removed the complete boinc directory and reinstalled ... now boinc is running again, but it looks like this "activated" a new device for my account. So: 1) Is there any way to "merge" the two devices back into one for the statistics? 2) What is the "correct" way to solve such problems? regards, eg |

Hello guntne,
Is thisproblem just with WCG,or,all experiments affected? Also,have you tryed reinstalling Boinc,It will overwrite.Also when I reapplied WCG,signed-up with my slugger name,and experienced a few days of catching-up.Time may change it.Also for 5 days,in Mngr. WCG didnot have my teams name.Boinc Synergy.  Maybe time will tell.?Am sorry I cannot be of better help.What Linux O.S. are you running on the Bad Box,which Boinc are you using 2.23 or newest 2.2.2.2.2.2.2.{I forget}Dohh  "Good luck" "happy Crunching" Doug Slugger Worrall |
