Im a new user of the linux boinc programm, and ive already had several WU ending with:
Unrecoverable error for result *** (process exited with code 70 (0x46)) i couldn't find any information on that code; as a matter of fact i dont even know if it is limited to linux users, but i thought i would start asking here: dos anyone have any idea of what this code means and how to prevent it? |

Here is the BOINC Wiki page: http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?tit...de-number-hex%29%27%29%29
It sounds as though the application terminated with that error code. Which application are you running: FAAH or HPF? Several work units terminated abnormally? Maybe you should use a diagnostic program on your computer. Looking at the 'Useful Utilities' thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 I suggest: 1) Motherboard Monitor: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ Monitors CPU temperature. If the manufacturer does not supply a temperature monitoring program for your board, then see if this program works with your computer. If the temperature is too high, then read http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2683 2) CPU Tester: http://7byte.com/index.php?page=download General diagnostic program 3) Memory Tester: http://www.memtest86.com/ Memory diagnostic program mycrofth |

thank you for the quick response.
I am running HPF. Since i run linux, i already have applications to check on temperatures and such, and i have no problems there. Memory tests were done successfully. As for the CPU tester, the link you provided is windows-only. but my sensors indicate no temp problem anyway. so i still have no clue what is the code 70 thing and what causes it. |

Please utilize the contact us feature in regards to this issue. It is specific to Linux and we have potential fix for it that we are currently testing. In the contact us email please provide any log files that you have available in regards to the error and a description of the environment (file permissions, available disk space, number of users using the system, etc) that you are running in. |

I get the same error message when running faah work units only. We are testing a fix for this problem now. If all goes well we hope to release the fix next week. |

The test went well - I released version 5.09 about 10 minutes ago. This should fix the exit status 70 error. I will have to watch the results coming back to be sure. We know exactly where the error occurred, however, we were never able to reproduce the error itself. There were some potential issues with the code in question so we have changed how that code was implemented.
